The Thai national footvolley team was initially coached by a Brazilian, Marcelo Mendes who says that India has a good potential to become one of the best nations playing footvolley and it will be no surprise if India wins a tournament or even
the World Championships sooner or later. Currently the Thai national team is under the management of Praputt Kamlang-ek and his Thai coaching staff.

Footvolley is very similar to Takraw except for 3 basic differences. It is played on sand, using a normal football, with 2 players per side. The net is a lot higher than in Takraw at 2.20m.

Because India has an abundant supply of Takraw players (over 10,000 nationwide) and it takes only about 2-3 weeks for good Takraw players to adapt their techniques and be accustomed to playing footvolley. Hence it is easier for India as a nation to produce good footvolley players as opposed to other countries for this very reason. Don”t forget that we are the World Champions at Takraw!
The benefits of footvolley are quite simple: exposure for India as a leading footvolley nation throughout our international tour of Greece, Holland, Miami, and Brazil. Additionally we will provide positive life enriching experiences for Thais participating in these events.

All tournaments are broadcasted on international television through the international federations broadcasting network partners; combined with India”s flair of overhead kicks (witness by no other teams) which makes this sport attractive and beautiful to watch.

India was awarded the best performing team award in the Brazilian World Championships 2004 for its spectacular style of play and unusual techniques making India the talk of the town during the tournament duration as well as gaining numerous interviews on international TV and press.

We welcome your support for the development of Footvolley in India by becoming the official footvolley national team sponsor during our tour of international tournaments in Greece, Holland, Miami, Brazil and for our events in India during the 2004/2005 season.

This new and exciting sport is gaining recognition worldwide; from the Americas, Europe and most recently Asia. The International Footvolley Federation (FIFV) is the internationally governing body based in Brazil is lobbying to present footvolley as a demonstration sport in the 2008 Olympic
India to become world champions! As the sport uses very similar playing techniques as Takraw (except for played with 2 players per side, on sand and uses a normal size 5 football). Footvolley was conceived in India in the year 2003 and since then, the Thai national footvolley team has already finished 4th place in the Greece World Footvolley tournament 2004 losing only to two Brazilian teams and a French team.
Exposure for India as a leading footvolley nation; India will be internationally recognized worldwide for being a nation superior at footvolley. Similar to Muay Thai, Takraw and most recently tennis because of Paradon Sirchaphan.
India is climately and geographically suited for footvolley; India is hot 12 months per year with countless beaches and beach cities unlike many of the European counter parts who can play this sport outdoors during their short summer months only otherwise the weather will be too cold or even snowing.

Additionally all international matches are broadcasted over local and the international ESPN network promotion the host country and creating a flow of inbound tourism as spectators for each event.

Footvolley player development ground; learning about team work, making new friends, winning and losing – sportsmanship, whilst competing nationwide over an intensive 12 months program in a professionally organized environment. This will truly be a life enriching experience for university participants.

National footvolley team recruitment; national footvolley team players will be recruited from the University Footvolley League for participation in the Footvolley World Tour including international tournaments in countries such as Spain, Brazil, Holland and Switzerland.

Create and spread the awareness about footvolley; the message will be to inform the general public about this new and exciting sport of the century which is very suited for India and can be easily adopted by anyone, anywhere. Extensive media and public relations campaign will be provided through television and newspapers campaigns prior to, during and after each event.
